Moorings at the Bluff - Rumbelow and Ewen Boats
Dear all,
The Rumbelow and Descendants weekend draws closer. And as the date approaches a “cut-off” date (Saturday 15th March 5pm) draws very near.
See below for the end date of joining the Saturday Evening dinner.
Dinner Numbers
The number attending the Saturday evening dinner now totals in excess of 100.
A pleasing attendance figure. Dont miss out.

Booking for the Saturday evening dinner must be made by:
5pm - Saturday 15 March 2025
On this date we are required to confirm numbers with the caterers at the Encounter Bay Football Club. Please, if you have not responded and wish to attend, do so now!
Day Visits - Saturday and Sunday
If you or your family are unable to attend the Saturday night dinner, you are welcome to visit with descendants at the venue on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
The Peter Matthews Exhibition and family memorabilia will be on display, as well as drinks and snacks from the bar.
To support costs, you can purchase an Exhibition Ticket or a gold coin(s) donation at the door.

Fund Raising
There will be two fund-raising initiatives to assist with costs of the weekend event. Please be aware there will be limited change available and no on-site ATM or cash withdrawal.
$5 Raffle
A "Family Basket" will be available consisting of Reprint voucher for a portrait of your choice, a Rumbelow's Dance book (for kids), Encounter Bay Football Club book, and more.
Raffle tickets will be in multiples of $5.00 – please bring suitable cash denominations to enable payment to be made.

Silent Auction
A John Ford original painting of the “Pestonjee Bomanjee” the barque which conveyed our forebears to Port Adelaide, will be the silent auction subject and the auction will be conducted over dinner. It is a magnificent production. There will be a moderate reserve price to be reached to secure the prize.

Sunday Program - Matthews Exhibition Walking Tour
A reminder of the Peter Rumbelow “walk and talk” of the Peter Matthews Collection as displayed at the EBFC. Peter will commence at 1.00pm on Sunday and the “walk and talk” is confined to the room housing the collection.
In Memorial
If time allows, we wish to acknowledge those family and descendants that we have lost since the 150 Celebration in April 2005.
Please feel free to complete the form below to include family, friends or significant figures in this presentation.
Memorabilia Display
Relatives and guests are welcome to display memorabilia or artifacts concerning Rumbelow and descendants on Sunday 30th March. Items are to be arranged on tables provided. Guest are encouraged to include label and provide a note about the items significant and providence (if able).
Should you have memorabilia such as Certificates of Awards, awarded by the Government, The Royal Humane Society, or similar, please consider displaying it with the Peter Matthews Collection. An accompanying photograph of the presentation, if available, would be appreciated.
If you have memorabilia that may be of interest to those attending, please advise Matt, and provision will be made for it to be displayed. All objects are subject to size and general suitability.

North Parade Wharf (West of the Birkenhead Bridge)
The Memorial to Lost Fisherman was commissioned by Mr Hagen Stehr A.O.
Chairman of Australian Maritime and Fisheries Academy.
It was dedicated in 1998 by the Governor, His Excellency Sir Eric Neal.
