Ruth Tugwell was one of tha major trophy winners at the Goolwa Pistol Club's recent Christmas shoot. Others to do well were her brother Roger, Wayne Sutton, Brian Johnson and Bronton Dinnison.
Goolwa Pistol Club president, Brenton Dinnison presents the trophy for the most consistent woman shooter to Ruth Tugwell, and the trophy for most consistent air pistol shooter to Wayne Sutton, at the club's Christmas break up on Sunday.
Leslie James Reid (Les) was born at Footscray on 24th May 1914 and married Myra Olive Pinna on 7th May 1941. Les moved to Queensland and was a cane cutter and carpenter. He did very intricate woodturning and was also a top sporting shooter. He enlisted in the Australian Army in 1941 and when discharged in 1942 he was attached to 51 Battalion.
