Finance
Review of financial position
Secretary, Matt advised of a balance of $1475.20 in the account.
Chair commented the amount is insufficient to address the objective of headstone repair.
Suggested we are forced to abandon the initiative and put the funds to funding the Web Site and the Peter Matthews Collection re-housing.
Reports - Chair
Headstones
City of Victor Harbor financial assistance
In regard to the Headstones Matt raised lobbying the City of Victor Harbor for funds.
Discussion and believed this would not be approved due to the CVH would then have to fund all, and the cost would be prohibitive.
Photographs
Proposal to photograph the headstones – this has already taken place.
Peter Matthews Collection
Insurance
Malen raised, subject to the PMC being housed at the EBFC, who was responsible for insurance – Chair has spoken with Don Rumbelow, and this would be covered by the EBFC insurance.
Time of display – annually moved. Reported would be permanent display.
Grants
Chair advised will apply for a grant to enable to preparation of the Gary Roberts Room to accommodate the display of the PMC.
Website
Funds left to maintain Web Site
Financing the Web Site is a priority and has first call on our finances.
General discussion
“To put our funds to the two issues as identified, financially maintaining the Rumbelow Web Site, paying the web site fee, with the PMC subject to City of Victor Harbor accepting our proposal to house the PMC at the Gary Roberts Room, Encounter Bay Football Club.”
Resolved
Reports - Secretary
Rambler Progress
Identified the Rambler is the property of the History Trust.
He is in contact with Rick Barton and Wendy.
They are the drivers of the project; however, the condition of the vessel has deteriorated further. The bow is moving further apart.
The History Trust is still assessing the future of the stern part display.
Further mentioned that the History Trust in Victor Harbor has only one item of Rumbelow history to display, a rag doll.
Suggestion on the next letter to members, solicit items that may be displayed.
