2005 Rumbelow and Descendants Reunion

In 1999 Phyllis Rumbelow sent a flyer to various members of the family proposing a 150th Jubilee reunion be held in 2005. 

Carlene Oliver (nee Rumbelow) then organised a meeting in August 1999 and in November 2000 Peter Rumbelow took on the role of event chair.

An event committee consisted of Carlene Oliver, Kay Ewens, Don and Leslie Rumbelow, and Peter and Gen Rumbelow. They met on a number of occasions both here and in Adelaide and they developed the event format. Kay Ewens, elected member of Council, was the event Treasurer and negotiated the Council’s significant contribution in the erection of the Cairn on the Yilki foreshore .

A family history book committee comprising of Mary George, Leslie Avery,  Phyllis Rumbelow, Lindsay Watson and Peter Rumbelow met several times before Peter got on with the work of converting the information into words and images.  

When that was completed Matt Rumbelow returned from a year in England and he took the reasonably raw words and images and converted them into print ready form.
